How we support schools

Director of Academic Families with Chinese group

School groups coming to the UK

Our team's experience in emerging markets introduces us to many overseas international schools, some of which would like us to organise a UK cultural school group visit including a short stay in a British boarding school. We are always looking for schools with boarding capacity to host these groups. The level of integration varies by school, however, our UK partner schools recognise the opportunity to convert visitors to students.

Academic Families can:

  • arrange for families to visit schools in the UK to help determine which one is best for their child.
  • accompany school visits by arrangement.
  • help increase your student enrolments - year-round or for short term courses.
  • organise visits from individuals or groups.

Contact our team to let us know about your available capacity if you would like to be included in future group visits.

Academic Families have always been friendly and efficient - very easy to work with.

Quality you can trust

Academic Families has personal and professional experience with boarding schools. Many of our staff attended boarding schools themselves when they were young or have worked in them. We have all lived overseas and most of us are mothers, so we understand how important it is to find the very best education for every child no matter where that might be in the world.

From our headquarters in Edinburgh to our local staff across the UK, our team regularly visits hundreds of British schools. Our excellent knowledge of the UK education system and certification from the British Council means we understand UK boarding education from the inside and out, and know how to find the best school for each child.

In addition, our guardianship service has been fully accredited by AEGIS (the Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) since 2016 so you know, with Academic Families, you're guaranteed to have the best local support anywhere in the UK.

Moreover, our team are trained MHFA Mental Health First Aiders so we are qualified to support our students with any wellbeing and mental health concerns.
