Academic Families works with more than 450 schools throughout the UK, and we have become experts at matching children to the right boarding school for them in order to ensure each student thrives.
We're delighted to present one of our partner schools:
Ellesmere College Prep and Senior school in Shropshire, England.
“Ellesmere College aims to produce fully developed and morally grounded human beings who will flourish as adults and improve the lives of those around them. The College believes firmly that the full measure of its success can only be judged in the years after attendance at the College.”
Students at Ellesmere College can sit A Levels or the International Baccalaureate. International students can also choose to undertake a Pre-A Level course to prepare them for A Levels the following year.
The school’s innovative approach to learning is reflected in their impressive exam results which regularly see a 100% pass rate at A Level. The high level of exam achievement enables over 85% of students to continue to their first-choice universities. Recent university destinations have included Oxford, Durham and King’s College London.
The school understands the importance of team activities and sports play in helping students to develop physically and mentally. Whatever their interests and hobbies, students will find plenty of opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities that suit them. Some of the most popular sports include tennis, hockey, basketball, football, swimming and pentathlon. The school has a dedicated Tennis Academy which enables players of all abilities, from recreational to elite, to reach their full potential.
Ellesmere College and its staff are committed to embracing the diversity of international pupils who come from all over the world. Over half of Ellesmere’s 240 boarders are international, so students coming to the UK from abroad can be sure that they’ll be well supported.
Ellesmere College has horizontal boarding and organises its boarding houses by age group, allowing students to form life-long friendships with their peers. Supported by an experienced Housemaster or Housemistress, students develop independence by taking on roles of responsibility within their house. Ensuring that students have a caring and supportive environment to live and learn in is the top priority of the school’s boarding and pastoral staff.
You'll probably have many questions about the exciting times that lie ahead. We are here to reassure you and support your decision to educate your child in the UK.
