Gresham’s is well-known for being the former school of Sir James Dyson – the inventor, designer and entrepreneur who started Dyson Ltd. In fact, after the success that followed Sir James’ education at Gresham’s School, he decided to give back to the school in the form of the Dyson Building for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics education. This pioneering building houses the STEM subjects and the arts within the same space to show pupils that they do not need to choose between the sciences and the arts at such a young age, and that aspects from each discipline can be used in a creative way in the other.
