Academic Families works with more than 450 schools throughout the UK, and we have become experts at matching children to the right boarding school for them in order to ensure each student thrives.
We're delighted to present one of our partner schools:
Claremont School in East Sussex, England.
“To create the best possible school environment for our students to learn and exceed their expectations so they leave Claremont empowered for the next stage of their life.”
Claremont School equips students with the right balance of knowledge and skills to enable them to make good decisions about their future and prepare them for the rigours of life after school. Nowhere better is this exemplified than in their exam results, showing that they are capable of excellence. In 2021, 65% of the graduating class achieved A*/A grades. Additionally, 46% of GCSE students got A*/A grades, and 94% of the cohort got a passing grade. University destinations after studying at Claremont School include Loughborough, Durham, Edinburgh and Bristol. In 2020, approximately 75% of pupils got accepted by their first choice of university.
Claremont School believes that a strong co-curricular programme is fundamental to a well-rounded education. Students have access to impressive sports facilities including a sports hall, fitness centre, Astroturf pitches, tennis and netball courts and over 50 acres of grass pitches. Pupils are given opportunities to demonstrate their skills in a full programme of competitive match fixtures, allowing them to represent the school. Sports they provide include hockey, swimming and football. They especially excel at football, as they have both girls and boys Football Academies that are led by the school’s professional coaches, with the Under-13 boys football team becoming national champions in 2019. Players are able to compete against professional clubs so that talented players are challenged and recognised for their skill.
Claremont School is home to over 60 international students from the age of 11, all the way to Sixth Form, creating a thriving international community. They promote equality and tolerance of all students regardless of their race, religion or gender. While Claremont requires students to have some level of proficiency in English upon joining, they also offer non-native-English-speaking students English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses to improve their understanding of the language so they can make the most of their education.
Claremont provides a safe and comfortable learning environment in their school and boarding houses, putting the student’s needs first so that every individual can flourish and discover themselves. This is achievable through the school’s excellent boarding facilities with dedicated study and recreational spaces, and on-site staff and Houseparents that cater to the specific needs of the students to ensure that they feel safe and cared for.
