Buckswood School takes great pride in its academic excellence, boasting impressive exam results in GCSE, IB and A level every year. In 2021, all 19 GCSE subjects had a 100% pass rate and 85% of students achieved top grades in English. In the same year, there was a 99% pass rate for A-level students, with 80% of results at grade B or above. All A-level students at Buckswood were accepted at university, including top UK universities such as Kings College London, Manchester and Exeter. The IB saw a 99% pass rate, with an average of 33 points across the year.
Buckswood encourages its students to be curious, creative and well-rounded, therefore believing that extra-curricular activities are a critical part of every student's educational experience. The school provides a sport for everyone, including archery, tennis and cricket. They also have competitive academies for rugby, netball, horse riding, golf, and football. The football academy is one of their most impressive sports academies, as students from six different teams can go on to compete at county, national and international levels. Students are also coached by UEFA-qualified instructors.
Students can join several other activities that encourage creativity and problem-solving solving including various clubs for art, music and drama as well as cooking, chess and film clubs, among many more.
Buckswood currently hosts students from over 30 countries, who make up around half of the diverse and multicultural student body. The school provides English learning support for non-native English speakers, to ensure these students can progress rapidly and utilise the Buckswood education to the fullest.
Buckswood ensures that the boarding community is safe and nurturing, providing a sense of community for both local and international students. The school encourages tolerance for everyone regardless of differences in race, gender or nationality. Their staff and facilities ensure that students are always catered for, and student wellbeing is prioritised above all else.
