Academic Families works with more than 450 schools throughout the UK, and we have become experts at matching children to the right boarding school for them in order to ensure each student thrives.
We're delighted to present one of our partner schools:
Bryanston School in the Dorset, England.
“et nova et vetera – the best of both new and old.”
The Bryanston method is our distinctive approach to teaching and learning, shaping the school for nearly a century. It remains one of the defining reasons families choose Bryanston, empowering pupils to think independently and take ownership of their education. Old Bryanstonians frequently speak of the lasting impact the method has had on their ability to think creatively and act with confidence long after they leave school. It is a proven model, and one that remains fundamentally unique to Bryanston.
At Bryanston, we believe that success is not just about academic results. That being said, in 2025, 95% of pupils applying to university this year secured a place at one of their top choices, with 87% being accepted by their firm choice destination.
At Bryanston, sport is inspirational to all and integral to daily life. Over 80 per cent of pupils represent the school in at least one sport and they all participate in sport at least three times per week.
Bryanston has a history of sporting success and excellence across a range of disciplines. We encourage every pupil to explore various sports until they discover the ones that suit them. Pupils can take part in sport purely for the joy of it or to compete at the highest levels, both nationally and internationally.
Our High Performance Sports Programme (HPSP) provides a unique opportunity for sports scholars and exceptionally talented young athletes to excel in their chosen sports. It is tailored for future professional sportspeople, offering a comprehensive support system.
International pupils represent approximately 15% of our total pupil numbers. Some are British with parents living overseas; others are from a broad range of nationalities. For some, English is a second or additional language, but all pupils need to be proficient in both written and spoken English in order to access the curriculum.
Our boarding houses are split between five senior boys’ houses, five girls’ houses and two junior boys’ houses. From September 2026, this will change to six senior boys’ houses, five girls’ houses and a prep school boarding house. They are places where pupils grow into independent, kind and confident young individuals. From breakfast to lights-out, we provide family-style support every day, ensuring the highest quality of pastoral care.
Weekend social activities include house dinners, concerts by school bands, theatrical performances and popular events such as the annual A3 Festival and the annual Charities Fair.
You'll probably have many questions about the exciting times that lie ahead. We are here to reassure you and support your decision to educate your child in the UK.
