About Brooke House College

Mission statement

“We provide a supportive and stimulating environment where every pupil can thrive, relationships are nurtured and a courteous informality is highly valued"

Academics

Brooke House has a diverse range of subject choices and an impressive academic success record. In 2021 15% of A-Level students achieved an A* and almost 60% got a B grade or higher. In the same year 18% of GCSE students achieved A* grades, the highest number in over a decade, with 11% more obtaining A grades. Class sizes of only eight students mean pupils have the best academic support possible to achieve outstanding exam results.

Activities & sports

Brooke House, being both a college and a football academy, places a lot of importance on physical fitness and football training . The school is home to an impressive football programme, teaching students important skills and enabling them to compete in many regional and national competitions. Students receive some of the best training available through UEFA qualified coaches. The Brooke House Football Academy has over 150 players, with many different teams, and former Football Academy members have gone on to play professionally, including Nikolai Todorov, Habib Makanjuola and Mark Tan.

International student community

Students come to Brooke House from over 55 different countries to develop their football skills alongside receiving a traditional education. The school provides a one-year University Foundation Programme, which is particularly useful for helping international students get into UK universities. Additionally, the school offers non-native English speakers an intensive English course which helps them to improve their English and settle quickly into school life. This reflects the school's ethos of promoting tolerance and individual expression, giving opportunities to students regardless of their nationality or the language they speak.

Boarding life

Brooke House aims to make their campus a home away from home for boarders, with dedicated pastoral staff that cater to the needs of the students to create a comfortable and welcoming environment and community. A dedicated on-campus medical centre and staff accommodation means the needs of students can be met at all times. Boarding at Brooke House enables students to become part of a close and vibrant school community.
