Academic Families works with more than 450 schools throughout the UK, and we have become experts at matching children to the right boarding school for them in order to ensure each student thrives.
We're delighted to present one of our partner schools:
Brentwood Senior and Prep School in Essex, England.
“We inspire students to emerge as intellectually curious and resilient young people with leadership skills, who work well with and care for others.”
Brentwood School offers IB, A Level and BTEC programmes to students in order to give them the freedom to choose whichever course best suits them, and provide them with the opportunity to excel during and after school life. The school’s 2021 graduating class achieved an average of 40 IB points, making it a top 10 UK IB school that year. In the same year, 85% of A Level students were given places at their first choice university. Brentwood had a 100% pass rate in their GCSE programme, with 70.5% of students achieving A* - A grades.
The excellent co-curricular programme at Brentwood gives students a strong sense of belonging as it helps them explore their interests and find their place in the community. The school offers both competitive and recreational activities, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Their vast facilities mean that Brentwood can offer a wide range of sports like swimming, dance, squash, fencing and track and field, to name a few. For competitive athletes, there are frequent competitions against local schools and between individual school houses, with some teams going on to represent the school at a national level.
For students who would like to become more involved in the arts, Brentwood puts on numerous drama productions each year as well as opportunities for participation and performances in dance and a selection of different bands and choirs. Also available are classes in art, language, creative writing, computer science and many more.
Brentwood welcomes over 50 international boarders, giving students from overseas the opportunity to receive a world-class education in the UK. For non-native-English-speaking students, a certain level of proficiency in English is required in order to get the most out of their Brentwood education.
Brentwood School has one boarding house for girls and another for boys, both of which are located on campus overlooking the playing fields. The diversity of backgrounds within the boarding houses teaches students to be tolerant and accepting of people regardless of their religious, cultural or ethnic background.
You'll probably have many questions about the exciting times that lie ahead. We are here to reassure you and support your decision to educate your child in the UK.
