Within sport, the school offers a wide selection of winter team games (football, basketball, netball, hockey, swimming and cross country) and summer team games (cricket, rounders, tennis and athletics).

Music is also an important part of the Bootham community, with more than 350 music lessons and around 30 musical activities taking place every week. The drama department puts on regular productions and invites pupils of any age to take LAMDA lessons (the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). There are more than 100 co-curricular activities available for pupils to participate in each week.

International student community

Bootham School welcomes students from around the world and currently has pupils from more than 20 different countries.
