Academic Families is a Safer Recruiter and requires valid Disclosure for all members of each hosting household who are 16+ years of age. We also require all our staff to have the highest level of Disclosure.
The process varies depending on the country you live in. However, for everyone, we need to see THREE separate documents which collectively will confirm your current legal name, address and date of birth.

Disclosure process and charges
Thank you. Academic Families must register with your PVG Scheme Record. We will provide you with the paper form for either your new or existing PVG Scheme application. Disclosure Scotland charges £59 for a new PVG Scheme Record application and £18 for a PVG Scheme Record update. Once you have your Scheme Record then you can use it for all your work with children.
Disclosure process and charges
Thank you. We will provide you with the paper form for your Disclosure application. Disclosure Scotland charges £25. Once you have your Disclosure Record then you can use it with other organisations who request it. It is normally valid for up to 3 years.

Academic Families requires you to have a DBS Disclosure certificate issued within the last 12 months. We use a 3rd party to apply for DBS Disclosures and you will receive an email from them to complete the online application. You are classified as a Volunteer and we will cover the application charge. You will be required to scan us a copy of your certificate on receipt.
